A School for Abul and more

We didn’t get our newsletter submitted on time last month, so we didn’t get to tell you about our success with the silent-auction bake sale in February! As you might remember, the youth were raising funds toward the construction of the School for Abul, Southern Sudan. We are happy to tell you that we raised $135 toward the school! Thank you to everyone who donated baked goods or bought the ones we made. A big thank you to Judith Billings for the donation of her chocolate cookies and to Allan Wintersteen for the donation of his chocolate-fruit pie/tart!

Lately, the youth have been working on a “fake” Facebook page for Simon Peter. It is in the form of a large poster that will be hung in the Social Hall. The youth gave it the more appropriate name of “Facebible”—how clever they are! Look for the results of their work in the Social Hall as Easter approaches, and as they “tweet” about the upcoming events leading up to Jesus’ Resurrection from Peter’s perspective.
